We are currently seeking a:
COGNOS PROGRAMMER

In this key role, you will create, test and deliver software applications in a structured team environment. 50% of your time will be spent developing, managing and enhancing project assignments, using the Information Services project methodology. You will also ensure system availability and integrity through coverage and maintenance and provide technical training or advice to junior team members. Responsibilities incorporate the full development life cycle, from the cost/benefit analysis through post implementation support.

Additional Job Functions include:
•20% - Delivering reliable, responsive and value-conscious applications that meet client expectations.
•15% - Providing input on detail design documentation, participate in peer review sessions and JAD sessions with clients.
•10% - Maintaining an effective interpersonal relationship with peers and management and informally arbitrate between project team members, clients and management when conflict or critical matters exist.
•5% - Providing support and coverage of existing software systems. (Will include 24 hour, 7 days per week “on-call” coverage, as assigned.)
REQUIREMENTS
We require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in technical development plus 3-5 years working in a Cognos environment. Must have a minimum of 1 year analytical experience coupled with 2 years data-warehouse experience utilizing ReportNet, Transformer or Data Manager. The successful candidate will be familiar with all aspects of object-oriented methodology and knowledge of SOAP, XML, Web services and UDDI.
