Beautiful new 100th Bomb Group Restaurant in the Cleveland Airport Area is searching for an experienced Director of Catering Sales/Events. The Director of Catering is responsible for all Banquet functions from orientation to execution, including the delegation of responsibilities to his/her catering sales staff. He/she also supports the General Manager by completing task as directed. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES •Responsible for completing Performance Reviews and making recommendations for the promotion, hiring, and advancement of catering office personnel. Once completed he/she will then forward all reviews and recommendations to the General Manager for final approval. •Responsible for the training, supervision, and termination of catering office personnel in conjunction with the General Manager. •Responsible for overseeing the preparation of arrangements with clients for functions that are booked in person, via the telephone, or through correspondence. Obtaining all pertinent information concerning the event, more specifically the size of the party, menu, and schedule of events. •Oversees negotiation of price with clients, the drawing-up and securing of contracts. •Responsible for working with the sales personnel to generate new business and maintaining contact with current accounts. •Responsible for establishing and maintaining an accurate filing and posting system for past, tentative, and upcoming events. •Oversees that each banquet room is inspected prior to a function to verify that the room set-up, menu, and schedule of events is correct. •Handling client complaints and rectifying problem solutions. •Assist the Executive Chef in planning menus and periodically aids in the creation of specialty menus and theme functions. •Responsible for distributing banquet information to the Management team in weekly Management meetings to verify all contract information with the department heads. •Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and forecasting for the Banquet Department.
REQUIREMENTS
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS •Full Time •Local travel required when considered necessary. •Schedule may fluctuate based on departmental requirements. •Observance of all Company Polices and Procedures. •Physical demands include light work, prolonged walking and/or standing along with the occasional exertion of up to 25lbs of force. EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES •Must be able to create and maintain a team atmosphere with in the department and ensure that employees are appropriately trained and have an adequate work load. •Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. •Detailed oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy. •Strong background in hospitality and event planning. •Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS Office, and Outlook. •College Degree or 3 years related experience preferred.
