Banquet Server Job Description
Wage: $4.24 + tips
The Banquet Server's primary function is to deliver food and beverage to guests in a professional manner following all DuPont Hospitality standards. Specific responsibilities include:
Serving the host and guest of a party - all timelines and services must be met or exceeded to a four-star standard
Serving buffets, sit-down, dinners, and hors d'oeuvres parties
Setting tables with quality china, glass, silver, and following all details of event order
Ensuring high standards by following service standards of department
Exceeding customer expectations by anticipating service needs
Organizing motions to maximize efficiency of set-up and service
Ensuring creativity of buffets and day-to-day customer special needs
Promoting an excellent work environment by following Standards of Excellence
Providing hands-on activity with making of candelabras, sauced stations, and quality checks of room and individual tables
Assignment requires working in areas with high-levels of background noise (bands, guests)
Ensuring a safe working environment by following all work practices
REQUIREMENTS
KNOW HOW/EXPERIENCE:
Qualified candidates will have:
Prior serving experience in a quality club/hotel/restaurant
Knowledge of fine wines and food
Strong listening and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a "customer first" mentality
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to adhere to quality standards for safety, sanitation and food handling
PROBLEM SOLVING
Qualified candidates must be able to:
Work with individuals and teams of diverse backgrounds
Handle multiple guest requests at the same time
Use good judgment handling emergencies
ACCOUNTABILITY
Qualified candidates must:
Ensure guests' checks and payment are accurate and complete
Learn and adhere to policies, procedures on safety, respectful work environment, and performance
Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance according to dress code/grooming standards
Act in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
Be able to work autonomously and self-manage
Enforce all ABC requirements.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must be willing to work weekend, holiday, and evening shifts
Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds
