Banquet Event Service Manager
Position:Banquet Event Manager
Responsibilities & Duties:
Short term:
•Attend all weekly meetings with the Max and Me Team
•Set up, Execute and Breakdown all events at the National
Constitution Center
•Directly supervise front of house staff and support staff.
•Responsible for liquor inventory, security, purchasing and controls.
•Works closely with Executive Chef on timing, buffet set ups and equipment for all events
•Coordinate and communicate with Restaurant Manager for events that may be executed more
effectively out of that operation.
•Responsible for inventory once a month for the liquor and cage area
•Attend weekly meetings with the NCC Facility Rentals Team
•Determine ordering needs by keeping pars at optimal levels adjusting for seasonal business
•Inventory of equipment and small wares seasonally and establish pars
•Report weekly to the Catering Director on completed projects and additional progress reports
Long term:
•Development and implementation of all inventory related policies, in writing, including vendor
selections, ordering, receiving, storage rotation, security and product usage.
•Define, Implement and Improve Standards of Service
•Develop brief job descriptions, in writing for each positions
•Partner with Staffing Coordinator on recruitment, retention and development of staff
•Responsible for evaluating service and support staff
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:
This position should have 3+years of experience in the service industry in fine dining, high volume, first class environments
Prior experience in training and development, preferred
Must love food and wine
Must have strong working knowledge of cost control and restaurant accounting
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, specifically Word and Excel
Ability to work independently, problems solve and trouble shoot problems, prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Ability to deal with internal and external customers, some who may require extreme levels of patience, tact and diplomacy in order to diffuse potential challenges, gather information and resolve problems
