Technical Research Assistant II will be responsible for design, execution, and analysis of Taqman genotyping and gene expression projects in a human molecular genetics lab. Individual will teach other personnel as needed.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1)Independently performs molecular biology procedures including but not limited to assay design and processing Genotyping samples for ABI 7900 or similar detection apparatus. Some equipment maintenance is required.2)Responsible for the oversight and coordination of all Taqman projects, including quality assurance, tracking laboratory supplies and prioritizing technician time to meet deadlines.3)Responsible for Biomek NX and FX operation and training others to develop protocols on these instruments, as well as maintenance.4)Independently analyzes results and prepares data reports.5)Prepares reagents for use in procedures.6)Builds and analyzes data sets with computer assistance; uses and tests inhouse LIMS software.7)Responsible for troubleshooting problems and instructing others in highly specialized techniques.8)In collaboration with Research Director, establishes new and modifies existing research techniques, and responsible for keeping written protocols up to date.9)In collaboration with Research Director, participates in budget preparation.10)All other duties as assigned.

1)BS or BA required in Biological Science.
