The Unix Operator II is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of information in and through all computer systems. This involves the running of system utilities and programs, batch processing and backups as well as printing, quality control and media distribution.Essential Functions:Responsible for the integrity of the Data Center through the use of monitoring tools.Ensures strict adherence to all Information Technology policies and procedures.Ensures the completion of all batch processing and application availability.Responsible for the startup and shutdown of applications, database servers and systems.Ensures that backups and restores are completed in a timely and efficient manner.Ensures that the distribution of output media is completed in an efficient and timely manner.Assists with media management: loading and unloading the tape silo, preparing tapes to go offsite.Ensures the resolution of problem tickets within defined service level agreements.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:Requires:High school diploma or equivalent is required
1+ years Information Technology operations experience
Unix skillsDesired:Associates degree in computer science, business administration or related work experience required
