System Monitor Technician

Network Operations Analyst - Houston, Texas (System Monitor Tech)JOB DESCRIPTIONMust be able to:
Work with customers and be an escalation point for other groups within the organization.
Troubleshoot complicated hardware and software issues, replicate user environments and network problems in the lab.
Manage critical customer issues and facilitate communication between customers, escalation, and engineering.
Be a customer advocate for timely resolution of issues and for problem reproduction and escalation.
Document and reproduce customer related networking problems, and if necessary coordinate fixes by engineering department.
Participate in cross functional tasks such as new technology deployment projects, support readiness teams, knowledgebase and other documentation activities.
Configure network devices for deployment to the field.
Help improve processes and tools.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
CCNA certification with CCNP in progress
Solid understanding of the OSI reference model.
Prefer 4+ years of experience supporting IP networks.
Experience with IP and related protocols (TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IPSec), IP routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, RIP, HSRP) and layer 2 protocols (VLAN, STP).
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, good personal organization skills, ability to provide leadership for frontline technical support engineers, and solid customer service attitude.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of web enabling technologies (HTTP, SSL, Java, Javascript, HTML) and server load balancing.
Experience using network management systems such as HP Openview NNM.
Knowledge of authentication schemes (Active Directory, NTLM, Radius, LDAP, AAA).
CCNP certification

Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline. Proficient knowledge of application software, networks, PC's, LAN's, routers and terminals. Knowledge of server hardware/architecture.
