The System Application Analyst II maintains, troubleshoots and ensures data integrity of the hospital billing system. This position supports both Salem Hospital and West Valley Hospital billing operations. He/she will help to evaluate, design and maintain applications as it relates to the billing systems of the UB-92, 1500, and third party software needed for the billing process. Will support business processes and implement technical enhancements and upgrades. Coordinates with the professional billing team and assists in the development and coordination of project plans and upgrades related to billing systems. Interacts daily with end users and vendor to analyze and solve issues with billing system applications. The person in this position will work to provide organization-wide reporting and data feeds as necessary to outside vendors.Utilizes advanced project management tools and techniques to provide project guidance and direction. It is important that the person in this position maintain familiarity with new and currently installed applications in order to provide guidance to the team in troubleshooting functionality and providing support and direction on the effective stability and continued growth of the system.
Working Conditions:Must be available to work occasional swing and night shifts for training and educational purposes.Must be available for on-call duties on rotating weekends.Must be capable of medium physical activity.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:Experience with hospital billing systems and business processes.An undergraduate degree, with a computer science or health care related major, and two years of Information Systems experience. Additional relative experience may be substituted for formal education at the rate of two years of experience for each year of education deficiency.Must maintain high standards of professionalism, communication, performance and respect for confidentiality.
Desired Attributes:EPIC Resolute Certification a plus.2 years experience supporting a hospital billing department, desired.Project Management / MS Project Experience, desired.Demonstrated ability to manage a project, software implementation or upgrade. Thorough understanding of the complexities of project management and the creation / use of project plans.Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, determine appropriate solutions and resolve sensitive problems.Excellent written communication and business analytical skills Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to needs in a prompt, courteous manner. Must have a positive attitude and willing to learn new things. Must have the ability to maintain a high level of energy and creativity.Acute attention to detail and accuracy. Must have the ability to deal with multiple independent requests, issues and problems concurrently.Ability to work independently, retain flexibility and maintain composure under pressure.Proven background in maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to exchange information, ideas and answer inquiries.
