The Certified Surgical Technologist provides direct assistance to the physician during procedures, under his/her supervision. May participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse when not directly assisting the physician.



Requirements
Minimum 1-year experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist performing Surgical Assist duties such as retracting, cutting sutures, applying dressings, sponging, suctioning, and connecting drains as required. High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is preferred. Passage of the certifying examination administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist. Work may require prolonged standing with infrequent rests. May require heavy lifting (up to fifty pound, unassisted) and pulling. Excellent customer service skills required.
