The Sr. Clinical Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs and clinical systems. The role is responsible for designing systems to parallel overall business strategies. Acts as the internal expert in terms of what a clinical system is, and is not capable of, and is responsible for knowing what changes have been made to the base system. Responsibilities include: documenting functional and technical requirements, mapping process flows, documenting test plans, conducting system testing, documenting user manuals and administering training. Provides guidance to the Clinical Informatics position.
1. Work with the clinical customers to understand their requirements, map process models, design technical solutions to satisfy requirements, and complete formal system testing.2. Work with vendors to be up-to-speed on product features and align the CTCA implementation strategy with the vendor’s product roadmap. Using this information, educate the CTCA end users on available functionality.3. Monitor system performance and report anomalies, errors, inaccuracies or inefficiencies. Make recommendations as needed4. Collaborate closely with – and communicate between – IT leadership and the clinical community to provide leadership for clinical systems projects and initiatives.5. Train, educate, and instruct clinical users on features, operation, and usage of software systems.6. Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the usage of clinical information systems.
REQUIREMENTS
· BS in nursing or other clinical specialty. (ie. Pharmacy, Radiology, Med Technology, etc.)
· Must have license or certification in clinical specialty· 5 + years experience as RN or in clinical area of expertise
· 3 + years software implementation
· Ability to map real-life nursing and clinical practices to Informatics applications
· Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills and able to manage multiple projects
· Effective written, oral, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
· Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines trough analytical and problem solving capabilities
· Needs to have a solid understanding of appropriate clinical workflows, commercially available technology, relational database concepts, and package system implementations.· Strong customer service orientation.
Independently evaluates and troubleshoots clinical issues to which technology can be applied.· Makes independent decisions and recommendations to individuals and groups on all levels.
· Final budgetary numbers, high-level problem escalation.· Final negotiations with vendors and service providers.
