Social Services Director

Compass Healthcare provides management services to nine beautiful, state of the art Care Centers, offering both long and short term care. We are located throughout the West Coast and Central Florida. Our facilities average 120 beds, are accredited by JCAHO & offer an extensive range of programs and services. We currently have an opening for a Social Services Director at our Huntington Place facility located in Rockledge, FL. Our company provides traditional skilled nursing care, a wide range of sub-acute care programs, as well as distinct programs for the provision of Alzheimer’s and hospice patients.

As Social Services Director, some responsibilities include planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the social service program to meet the objectives of the nursing home as part of total patient care. Assist in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents and to enable residents to utilize medical care in order to achieve their optimal length of health. Keep professional matters confidential and maintain adequate records.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:

·MUST be a licensed Social Worker
·Completed the requirements of B.S. degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university or a BS in human services field and one year of supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting working directly with individuals and state licensure as applicable;
·Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of long term care experience;
·Have leadership ability and a willingness to be a part of a team;
·Must have imagination and creative ability;
·Ability to plan and organize social services, have an understanding of social and emotional needs of residents in a nursing home;
·Have patience and tact, empathy and be able to handle patients based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.


This position reports directly to the Administrator.
