We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Medical Information Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL.



You will perform the following functions in this key role:

Deliver high-quality, balanced and timely medical and scientific information upon the request of health care professionals and consumers.

Provide cross-functional support of TPNAs external communication strategies.

Sustain and promote TPNAs professional standing and integrity amongst patients, health care professionals and the pharmaceutical industry.

Research the appropriate medical information to provide a quick, accurate and thorough response.

Proactively distribute important product and/or medical information to relevant internal functions as necessary in support of product changes, safety issues and other sentinel events.

Respond to both written and phone inquiries from health care professionals and consumers related to Takedas products and disease states.

Provide high quality medical and scientific product information to both internal and external customers; support product booths at professional scientific meetings.

Contribute to the development of SOPs, working relationships, resources and tools (telephony, computer hardware and software, etc.) for responding to product information requests.

Represent Medical Information function on various inter-company committees, commercial teams and task forces as assigned.

Develop and maintain standard and custom product information responses in various formats to address vast array of inquiries.

Maintain and distribute clinical research information as requested.

Compile product complaints; forward information to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Compile initial adverse event reports; forward information to Marketed Products Safety Manager.

Enhance medical and product knowledge within the Sales Force, Marketing and other departments by disseminating relevant information on a consistent basis.

Supervise the training and activities of pharmacy students, summer interns and other trainees as directed.
REQUIREMENTS


You must possess the following requirements and experience to succeed in this position:

PharmD required.

Minimum of 3 years of drug information or pharmaceutical call center experience.

A post-doctoral drug information residency is desired.

Recognize questions, concerns or complaints that could be associated with an adverse event and is familiar with the processes associated with handling an adverse event.

Understand the pharmaceutical industry and the prescription drug distribution process in a large healthcare organization or prescription drug vendor.

Understand FDA regulations and reporting requirement for adverse effects and medical communications.

Specific health impact of various types of products and potential adverse reactions/drug interactions.

Identify the critical issues of problems or opportunities using appropriate information.

Must apply the knowledge of Takeda's core business capabilities to help the organization meet its goals and desired outcomes.

Must be able to review systems, processes and policies to ensure compliance with required good manufacturing and clinical practices.

Identify and understand relevant trends, opportunities, needs, and market direction within the pharmaceutical industry

Comprehensive understanding of Takeda's operating structure and methods including a thorough knowledge of the foreign-owned parent company a plus.

Must be able to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites with limited overnight stays. Some international travel may be required.Inspiration Required...
