Senior Biostatistician

Purpose: A world leader in medical technology providing technology, used to treat conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, neurological disorders, and vascular illnesses is looking for a SENIOR BIOSTATISTICIAN for immediate placement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares statistical analysis plans and provides sample size calculations. Analyzes data from clinical trials, human factors, engineering and marketing studies. Writes statistical reports and sections of clinical reports and regulatory submissions as appropriate. Develops and maintains database audit procedures. Consults to other departments on statistical and data management issues as appropriate. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ideal candidate must have interest in the fields of biomedical research and applied statistics. Ability to identify and conduct statistical analyses appropriate to clinical trials and engineering studies. Must have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Ability to work both independently and on project teams and manage multiple, concurrent assignments, independently, requiring minimal supervision. Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university required; advanced knowledge of statistical techniques required. Masters degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred. 5 years of related experience and/or training required. Five to ten years related experience and/or training preferred. Experience with analysis of variance, multiple regression analysis and survival analysis. Must have thorough knowledge of SAS and/or SPSS statistical software and Microsoft Access database programs, Windows operating system. Knowledge in Oracle Clinical Application would be preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribe style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to teach others regarding statistical methods and procedures. No certificates, licenses or registrations are required for this job.
