Retail Analyst / Buyer

Candidates with optical experience are strongly preferred. High Fashion Corporate Retail Optical Company seeks professional Retail Analyst/Buyer for New York City corporate office location. Responsibilities consist of the following: - Development of overall category objectives, financial goals, market penetration, and leadership positioning strategy for assigned categories. - Approve new and discontinued items, utilizing existing analyzing technologies to maximize SKU & assortment mix, space allocation, sales, profits, and advertising effectiveness. - Implement pricing strategies for categories and set retail prices for individual products. - Development of category Plan-O-Grams (POG’s) based on long term strategic profitability, customer satisfaction, and weekly sales goals. - Development of inventory level plans in stores & retail support centers with budgeted guidelines. - Monitors all competitive and industry activities regarding merchandising, market assortment, pricing, and promotions. - Identify consumer requirements and develop category merchandising plans to maintain those requirements. - Maintain contact with store managers, merchandiser, and buyer. - Develop and maintain vendor relationships. - Continuously monitor market conditions affecting supply and pricing. REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: - Minimum 1 – 2 years of buying office experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word - Bachelor’s Degree preferred - Strong business and analytical skills - Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and problem solving skills - Aptitude to prioritize, multi-task, and function within deadlines - Ability to work independently and as a team player - Detail-oriented and strong desire to excel - Ability to identify and apply solutions to business situations - Able to work nights and weekends when necessary - Strong retail background and store level experience preferred Top salary plus benefits and advancement opportunities are available for enthusiastic professionals.
