Respiratory Therapy Tech

Hours: Per Week 0.04
Location: Mercy Hospital, Alegent Health
Shft: PRN/On-CallJob Description:Performs only modalities that fall under the scope of non-licensed personnel.
Administers therapy according to physician orders as applicable to above. Sets up and operates various types of therapeutic equipment as applicable to above. Performs or assists in all aspects of airway management as applicable to above. Disassembles, cleans, and/or delivers contaminated equipment to be sterilized for re-use.EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSURE:
Required: Education equivalent to participation and or completion of an accredited Respiratory therapy program. Will be required to be certified in CPR. Obtains 15 contact hours of Respiratory Care Continued Education every year.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The Caregiver must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and developmental needs over the life span as described in the department policies, procedures, performance appraisal standards and/or by competency programs..
