Reimbursement Manager - DME
The Reimbursement Manager is a qualified professional who serves as a part of the management team by leading reimbursement related departments of the organization.
S/he plans, organizes, directs, and participates in activities related to order intake, authorizations, billing and collections. S/he must organize, delegate and coordinate work to meet the needs of customers while meeting revenue collection goals.
S/he supervises and directs the work of billing officers, intake officers, authorization specialists and other personnel related to reimbursement.
The Reimbursement Manager is responsible for development of budgets, policy and procedures, contract compliance, education and training, regulatory compliance and short and long term goals of assigned departments.
REQUIREMENTS
1.Five years of increasingly responsible experience in medical billing and collections, including three years of equivalent management experience.
2.Associate’s or Bachelors Degree in accounting, business administration or related field is desirable and may be substituted for years of experience.
3.Strong knowledge of coding, compliance, general accounting and medical terminology.
4.Extensive knowledge and understanding of compliance, standards and governmental regulations related to claims processing.
5.Extensive knowledge of the private insurance industry related to coverage and pre-certification guidelines.
6.Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment including a computer and applicable financial, statistical, database and billing software systems.
7.Proficient in the utilization of office software systems such as e-mail, word and excel, etc.
8.Proficient in the implementation and evaluation of electronic claims processing.
9.Excellent negotiation, documentation, analytical, communication and problem solving skills.
10.Ability to mentor, coach and develop staff, while acting as a role model and a resource
