Registered Nurse - Wound/Ostomy Care

North Hills Hospital is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse in Outpatient specializing in Wound/Ostomy Care. Under the direction of Outpatient Services, The Wound Care Specialist communicates/collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the health care team to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds and ostomies. Works with a high degree of autonomy, accepts responsibility and accountability for assigned patients to plan, implement and evaluate the care for wound and ostomy patients. Complies with hospital policies and standards of care while performing functions.
REQUIREMENTS
A. Three to five years previous wound/ostomy experience required. WOCN certification; must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not currently certified.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

A. Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse.

B. Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing and Specialty Certification preferred.

C. Certified in CPR and ACLS.

D. Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.

E. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.

F. Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to wound care/ostomies.

G. Knowledgeable of specialty equipment tools: Wound Care Products

H. Performs as Team Leader/Facilitator, and knows responsibilities of other team members.
