Registered Nurse Utilization Managers

Utilization Management RNs perform clinical review of all hospital services for appropriateness based on medical criteria. This individual is responsible for the management of inpatient resources necessary and appropriate for achievement of desired impatient outcomes and the coordination of alternative levels of care for our membership.
REQUIREMENTS
Along with a current Texas RN license, the successful Utilization Management RN must be a self starter with a demonstrated history of:

• Managed Care experience,
• 3-5 years advanced clinical experience,
• 2-3 years of prior Utilization Management experience,
• Handling complex clinical situations with emphasis on managed care,
• Creativity and the ability to think outside of the box, and
• Computer literacy

Discharge planning, community health experience and fluency in Spanish would be a plus.
