Registered Nurse Reports to: Center Director Exemption: Non-exempt Summary: Plans and provides professional nursing care under the direction and in cooperation with Center Director and in accordance with physician orders, DaVita Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, OHSA, HCFA, AAMI, federal, state and local regulations. Assists and supervises assigned staff members in the delivery of patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Maintains current and valid RN licensure in state where he/she is working.

Job Functions:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Performs patient assessments; obtains vital signs and appropriate data, evaluates data and intervenes as appropriate; initiates and terminates dialysis treatments on patients with permanent fistulas or grafts, or catheters. Facilitates physician rounding.
Implements patient care plans; administers medications and intravenous solutions; maintains records and reports; educates the patient and their family to comply with physicians’ orders; participates and directs emergency care.
Provides patient education.
Utilizes the nursing process to make recommendations for patient care; evaluates delivery of patient care and communicates to appropriate personnel relevant facts about patients, action taken and patient responses.
Documents, verifies and ensures implementation of physician orders.
Directs and supervises the activities of other clinical staff as assigned. Participates in the delivery of patient care and acts as team leader. May act as CD from time to time in the absence of the CD.
Observes activities of staff and makes recommendations to supervisor for improvement in the quality and effectiveness of patient care. Assists in the implementation and compliance of DaVita policies and procedures.
Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources; evaluates quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and reports results to supervisor; maintains standards of cleanliness in assigned areas.
Participates in team nursing and promotes team concept throughout all clinic activities; assists other staff in the performance of their duties in accordance with policies and as allowed by state regulations; performs duties and responsibilities of other positions in the clinic including, but not limited to, Reuse Technician, Inventory Technician and Unit Secretary.
