La Palma Hospital is a 141 Bed facility with 495 employees.
Patients are cared for in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Our services not only focus on the treatment of existing conditions, but also on preventive medicine for the entire family.

As part of this partner ship, we have adopted initiatives designed to make life healthier, simpler and less intimidating.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assess as appropriate and interpret data, determine patient care requirements and deliver care relative to the patients’ age specific needs. Prioritizes patient care based on physical, psychosocial assessment and reassessment data. Plans patient care based on patient requirement/needs. Assures implementation of patient care based on identified needs and in a systematic and therapeutic manner. Assigns/delegates patient care according to patient requirements/needs and skill level of the support staff. Communicates significant patient status findings using appropriate channels and follows up on response. Implements appropriate emergency measures in crisis situations. Demonstrates clinical skills at expected level of competency. Functions as a patient advocate for patient care concerns. Initiates a plan and participates in providing patient/family education according to the individualized needs. Functions within scope of practice and meets all legal and regulatory requirements. Assures that nursing care is documented systematically and legibly. Refers to and collaborates with other health care providers to plan patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Identifies support staff skill and knowledge needs and participates in meeting these needs. Provides documentation of continuing education, 15 hours yearly, with 7.5 hours relating to current area of practice. Participates in performance improvement/risk management activities. Demonstrates knowledge and application of principles of safety, infection control, hazardous materials waste program and universal precautions, and performance improvement, information management, by completing the annual review process.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess and interpret data, determine patient care requirements and deliver care relative to the patients-age specific needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population. Current California State Registered Nurse Licensure. BLS Healthcare Provider Status.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is of medium demand, walking and standing most of the time on duty; fequent lifting of patients with assistance; frequent reaching and handling of instruments and equipment when attending to patient needs; works inside; varied temperature changes; contact with water/liquids; subject to noise and vibrations; hazards include exposure to blood and body fluids, sharp objects and instruments, assorted chemicals as listed in the MSDS manual; frequent contact with fumes, odors and exposure to vapors, mists and liquids; uses of personal protective equipment: In this position, occupational exposure to communicable diseases and blood/bloodborne pathogens requires the use of personal protective equipment to include gloves, gowns, goggles, masks and radiation measuring devices, when in the clinical setting.Registered Nurse (RN) Healthcare Tele
