Registered Nurse-Neurosciences

The Alexian Neurosciences Institute is seeking experienced neuroscience registered nurses to create a revolutionary inpatient unit. Will consider nurses with med/surg experience. Current licensure in Illinois as a Registered Nurse is required.

The inpatient unit is the cornerstone of care for neuroscience patients that come to Alexian as part of the partnership of Alexian Brothers with the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.

A group of professional nurses who desire to take responsibility for their professional practice and their patient’s clinical outcomes will drive the vision for this patient care unit. The team of professionals on this unit will provide leadership to the unit and fully participate in unit decision-making/goal setting, direct clinical care, staff recruitment, development and education. The Alexian Neurosciences Institute has invested in leading-edge technology including a $5 million Neuroangiography Suite and advanced diagnostic imaging procedures like NOVA: Non-Invasive Optimal Vessel Analysis. A variety of neuroendovascular diagnostics and interventions, functional, vascular and tumor neurosurgical procedures, peripheral nerve, surgical and minimally invasive spine procedures are all done in this setting.

REQUIREMENTS
Job goals:

The team of registered professional nurses on this unit will provide leadership to the unit 24/7 and full participate in unit decision-making/goal setting, direct care and staff recruitment, developement and education.

Positions are currently available for full time, part time and resource positions on the night shift. Eight or twelve hour shifts are available.

Current IL license & CPR certification required.
