Located 2 hours north of Seattle in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, Vancouver Coastal Health is responsible for the delivery of about $2 billion in community, acute, and residential health care services to more than one million people in communities from Richmond through Vancouver, the North Shore, the Sunshine Coast, the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, Powell River, Bella Bella and Bella Coola.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Manager and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, uses clinical judgement skills to diagnose and treat the patient, resident, client and significant others' responses to actual or potential health conditions. The Registered Nurse assesses, monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent potential complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatments of the patient. Is knowledgeable of and adheres to standards of professional nursing and patient care practice in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an approved nursing program. Completion of a post graduate Emergency Nursing Clinical Speciality program and two years experience or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) required.



Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to implement the nursing process and use clinical judgement. Ability to deal with others effectively. Ability to set priorities.
