Description:
The Registered Nurse gives direct and indirect care and provides supervision to the nursing staff regarding patient care. All efforts are directed towards continuous quality improvement and family centered care. May be utilized as an associate case manager, charge nurse, preceptor or code team member. In addition, staff in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patents status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departmental policy and procedure manual. The Registered Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, current DC license required, one to two years pediatric experience, outpatient or ambulatory nursing preferred.
