About the Opportunity
Are arts, crafts, music and fitness just some of your passions? Bring your enthusiasm and creativity to Kindred – develop recreation and activity programs for our residents that stimulate them to feel better and be able to do more.

Responsibilities:


Perform a social evaluation and assessment upon admission of each new resident; create and update care plans and progress notes; uphold the morale of residents with diversified and well-supervised recreational activities
Develop entertaining recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms
Arrange transport of residents to off-site activities
Coordinate visits by the clergy or other spiritual leaders; organize and direct volunteer services
Maintain records of activities and attendance; monitor expenses and stay within the department's budget
Supervise Activity Coordinators and Aides; interview applicants and recommend hires
Ensure that equipment and supplies are stored and the area is clean after conclusion of an activity



Qualifications


Must have background in activity programs that stimulate adult and geriatric residents as well as skill in conducting arts/crafts, music and games. Requires excellent communication skills, ability to interact with challenged residents and act decisively in emergency situations. Must maintain confidentiality and assure resident rights are protected. A BS in Recreation(or similar) and 3 years of related experience are necessary.
