Nationally-recognized heart care is coming to Allentown. Beginning January 2007, St. Luke’s Regional Heart Center at St. Luke’s Hospital - Allentown Campus will be powered by an emergency heart station, advanced digital GE technology for cardiac and vascular care and a dedicated, dynamic team of board-certified heart surgeons, a full line-up of cardiologists, interventional radiologists, nurses and technical staff with vast expertise in heart care. Become part of this outstanding team in the newly created physician extender positions. In these new roles, candidates will:
-Provide patient care management for ICU, Cardiac and Medical/Surgical/Telemetry patients
-Participate and direct activities of the Rapid Response Team
-Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate resuscitation of newborns
-Assist supervising physicians with after-hour admissions
-Participate in clinical research activities
-Provide clinical education programs

Requirements include certification as a Nurse Practitioner Must be eligible for a Pennsylvania license as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure. Masters degree in Nursing preferred. Current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania or seeking Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity. Must maintain current NRP, PALS, ALCS certification/affirmation.
