Organizes, prioritizes, coordinates, and administers individualized professional patient care to patients within the Special Care Unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Provides quality-nursing care as directed by medical staff and the state Nurse Practice Act. Intervenes and provides treatment of potential or actual life threatening situations in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and ACLS guidelines. Maintains the standards of nursing care as established. Participates in Performance Improvement. Patient Education, discharge planning, appropriate referral ability, and knowledge of ethical and legal implications are necessary skills. Able to assess and reassess infants, children, adolescents and adults of all ages.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed in the state of Michigan. BCLS required and ACLS certification within six months. Must have excellent communication skills and strong clinical decision making abilities for the multi-system acutely ill patient. Class completion or demonstrated competency with Arrhythmia Interpretation, CV medications, and ventilator management required. Classes/orientation will be provided.Work 8-hour shifts with a combination of afternoon and night shifts. Enjoys working closely with 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-patient care cases. Intervenes for potential or actual life threatening situations in accordance with licensing policy, and ACLS guidelines. Sign-on Bonus
