REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Graduation from an approved school of practical/vocational nursing (or its equivalent) required.
Must possess current Michigan licensure or permit to practice as licensed practical nurse.
Must be able to perform and record effectively a wide variety of technical patient care procedures such as catheterizations, obtaining vital signs, and changing dressings.
Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively (up to 80% of work time)with sick and/or irritable patients in order to gain their cooperation and allay apprehensions.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
