The Services for Persons With Special Needs (SPSN) division is dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities of any age. Support services may be provided in the consumer’s home, in their local community or in a foster-care, residential setting provided by Volunteers of America. All staff are supervised by professionally trained program supervisors who assist in setting up the support services and in training the direct care staff.

About This Position

Volunteers of America has a part-time, RN - PCA Supervisor position available in Princeton. This position is 15-20 hours/week, with competitive wages.

Job Description Summary:

A person educated and trained to provide specialized care for the sick or disabled. In this case, a graduate trained nurse who has passed a state registration examination and has been licensed to practice nursing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and manage the health and medical needs of clients.
Organize and regulate the involvement of all individuals and/or resources which impact the client.
Provide staff with ongoing necessary medical/health care training/orientation.
Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and co-workers.
Complies with all agency policy and procedures and professional and community standards.
Follows applicable state and federal laws.
Accurately document care in the clinical record.
Develop and participate in ongoing personal professional development.
Travel to client sites as required.
Assures client privacy is maintained by being knowledgeable and following HIPAA privacy and security regulations
Attendance.
Work as many hours as needed to complete the job.
Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Works under general direction.
May supervise others.

Professional relationships to be maintained:
Workers, clients, medical professionals, teachers, general public.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
RN degree in nursing (accreded school of nursing
Certified by the state of MN
1 year of experience in field

Language Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work with a diverse population of individuals using tact, diplomacy and flexibility.

Mathematical Skills:
Basic math skills are required for this position.
