The Clinical Decision Unit RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The tasks and responsibilities include:Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs. Carries out physician orders. Administers prescribed medications, blood and blood products. Maintains peripheral, central and picc lines. Identifies potential and actual life threatening dysrhythmias. Emergent management of patients with life threatening dysrhythmias. Manages cardiac specific pharmacological agents. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Instructs and educates patients and families. Serves as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care Provides age and culturally appropriate care. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
REQUIREMENTS


Required Job Qualifications include:Current licensure as an RN. Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Previous clinical experience in emergency department or critical care preferred. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
