Summit Medical Center, Alta Bates Medical Center and Sutter Health completed their affiliation process in December 1999. Alta Bates?originally Alta Bates Sanitarium, an eight-bed hospital for women and their infants?was founded in 1905 by Nurse Alta Alice Miner Bates. Today, Alta Bates includes the Ashby Campus and the Herrick Campus, once known as Herrick Hospital and Health Center.

Summit Medical Center grew out of and continues the traditions begun nearly a century ago by Providence, Samuel Merritt, and Peralta hospitals. Summit comprises Summit North, South, and West Pavilions, the Providence Medical Office Building, the Peralta Medical Office Building, Samuel Merritt College, the Health Education Center and the Summit Medical Center Foundation.

REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Current California RN license. Current BCLS (Healthcare Provider) Certification. Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English. Able to clearly demonstrate knowledge of nursing process and nursing theory. Able to effectively present ideas. Demonstrates leadership capabilities, good interpersonal skills and a team player.
