We are an 1100 bed JCAHO accredited treatment facility serving adult individuals coping with and recovering from the signs and symptoms of major mental illnesses. We espouse a recovery treatment model and seek to engage individuals served in acquiring the skills and insights necessary for their return to community living. Approximately 80% of our population are forensically committed individuals adjudicated either incompetent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity. The remaining 20% are civilly committed individuals from numerous Northern California Counties.Napa State Hospital maintains a collaboration with the Department of Forensic Psychiatry, University of California at Davis. This collaboration includes consultation, forensic fellows on-site and an annual Visiting Scholars Conference which has featured distinguished forensic scholars from the U.S., the U.K. and Australia.We are currently seeking applications from highly motivated individuals for Rehabilitation Therapist (MUSIC) positions on our multidisciplinary wellness and recovery teams. The Rehabilitation Therapist (MUSIC) typically provides evidenced based clinical assessment, participates in treatment and discharge planning, and applies therapeutic habilitation/rehabilitation knowledge, skills enhancement activities, and techniques to support each individual in their recovery process.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications include
Equivalent to graduation from a recognized college with major work in music therapy or registration with the American Music therapy Association or eligibility for such registration. ANDCompletion of an approved clinical internship in the appropriate rehabilitation specialty in an approved hospital or rehabilitation center affiliated with the college.Individuals who are registered or certified with the appropriate therapy association but who have not completed a clinical internship because it was not a component of the academic program at the time are required to have completed a minimum of two years full-time paid experience in a clinical, residential or community based setting after receipt of the required degree to be admitted into the exam.This position requires good time management, sound clinical skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships and the confidence and cooperation of persons contacted in this work. Salary and Benefits: $3187-3599 per month, PLUS A MONTHLY Recruitment and Retention bonus of $200.
