The tradition of caring which culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1933, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. In 1992 Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center, and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The Hospital is now a 228-bed facility on two campuses, providing comprehensive healthcare services. Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Admitting/Communications this position verifies health care benefits for all inpatient admissions. Determines patient liability based on benefits and advises patient of their liability. Obtains payments from patient or guarantor at time of admission or before patient is discharged. Age Specific Specific age groups served by this position: Neonate/Infant ___ Pediatric ___ Adolescent ___ Adult X Geriatric X
Position Requirements Excellent understanding of HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and MIA reimbursement and payor criteria preferred. Mathematical ability to calculate and determine patient liability based on benefits verified by third party payor preferred. Collection experience and abreast of current laws governing collection of accounts preferred. Assaultive Behavior Management certificate required within 90 days from date of hire. Experience in an acute care hospital admitting department preferred. Minimum 1 year experience in insurance verification in a hospital setting required.
