Aegis Acute Rehab, a subsidiary of Beverly Enterprises, Inc., has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Director in our Orthopedic Center of Excellence. This is our newest inpatient program that was developed to provide treatment of fractures, joint replacements and other related orthopedic injuries in a skilled nursing setting. Clinical pathways and specialized equipment typically found in acute rehab programs were developed to ensure the highest quality of care. We monitor our outcomes/success through our ROM system that quantitatively measures the impact we have on our patients. Our commitment to providing passionate care results in faster recoveries and increased post treatment functionality and productivity.
You will be responsible for the overall growth of quality and financially viable rehabilitation programs for the Orthopedic Center of Excellence (OCE). Plans, develops, implements and monitors business. Develops and evaluates effectiveness of associates and ongoing programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PERFORMANCE CULTURE:
§Orients, trains, develops and manages the performance of all direct reports.
§Provides clinicians with clinical resources to support highest program integrity. Develops and manages a plan for clinical growth.
§Ensures clinical competency of licensed therapists and support staff, and directs the education and development of all associates.
§Ensures proper use of continuing education dollars to achieve clinical development goals
§Serves as a leader and role model for therapists.
§Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction as evidenced by scores on customer service surveys and Friends and Family Surveys and retention of non-Beverly business.
§Educates associates in the understanding of the financial outcomes of clinical decision making. Ensures accurate, complete, clinically based decisions by the transdisciplinary team in regard to RUGs process and all other payor types.
§Associate adheres to Code of Conduct policies and procedures according to company, Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans Affairs requirements.
MARKET LEADER:
§Develops strategic new business opportunities in conjunction with Corporate Sales &Marketing and the company President: Directs the Sales and Marketing efforts for the OCE.
CREATE ECONOMIC ADVANTAGE:
§Ensures that all programs and documentation meet company standards.
§Directs the management of rehabilitation denials in accordance to federal guidelines and company benchmarks.
§Ensures compliance to all company policies, state practice acts, Federal rulings (Medicare, Medicaid, VA) and regulatory guidelines. This includes the items in the Quality Management Standards Handbook and related items in the client company compliance plan.
§Ensures timely and accurate recording and billing of all services provided.
§Oversees the procurement of supplies and equipment necessary to meet the needs of the facility business.
MARKET MAXIMIZATION:
§Responsible for identification and implementation of clinical programs to meet patient needs utilizing effective service delivery models. Maintains therapy utilization at or above company benchmarks.
§Effectively utilizes and ensures accuracy of usage of company systems and resources (e.g. management reports, performance management, denials management, Scope of Service, etc.).
§Responsible for the effective development and/or the timely implementation of new initiatives/system/updates/best practices.
§Manages financial indicators (key factors) to meet or exceed company benchmarks.
§Implements proactive systems to manage labor hours, use of contract staff, staff mix and overtime to achieve benchmark in wages as a percent of revenue while assuring patient needs are met.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience: The individual should have demonstrated excellent management, interpersonal communication, sales and marketing, leadership and organizational skills of the caliber required to successfully manage an Orthopedic Center of Excellence. Minimum five (5) years’ experience, with three (3) years in management in Long Term Care or other geriatric setting.
§Graduate from an accredited program for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology or in the allied health field, preferred. Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or Healthcare acceptable in lieu of allied health degree.
§Licensed therapists must maintain current license in state of practice and/or nationally certified.
§Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
§Must possess working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications and electronic communications.
§Demonstrates working knowledge of transdisciplinary issues.
§Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time without compromising deadlines.
§Must be able to relate positively, professionally and cooperatively with others.
§Must have experience in managing a minimum of one million dollars ($1M) in rehab revenues.
§Licensed therapists must treat patients as needed.
§Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
§Must meet all local health regulations, pass a post-offer drug test, background check and a post-offer employment physical exam, if required.
§Must demonstrate an ability to lead by example, train through doing and possess mentoring capabilities.
§Must be a geriatric advocate.
§Must be able to travel extensively with overnight stays.
§Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
