Physical Therapist Technician

Pima Medical Institute is a progressive, private school that offers Certificate and Associate Degree programs in numerous allied health professions. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Physical Therapist Technician Instructor for our campus located in Albuquerque, NM. Primary responsibilities include:

Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans for students to include scheduled activities and materials of semesters.
Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based upon student need and established curriculum.
Monitor the attendance of students in the program and coordinate with Associate Director when absences occur two days in a row.
Review student success rates and implement plan to reduce student withdrawals.
Maintain student grades in accordance with established policies.
Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievements in curriculum and activities.
Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, field trips and visits to physical therapy clinics.
Prepare lectures, labs and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually.
May assist and coordinate externships for Physical Therapy Technician students.
Monitor students in laboratory. Assist students with lab procedures and ensure safety precautions are adhered to.

REQUIREMENTS


Be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist program. Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree in physical therapy preferred. Have three (3) years of clinical experience as a physical therapist assistant or physical therapist. One (1) year of instructor experience in related field of physical therapy preferred. Verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and other computer skills.
