Nemours owns and operates the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, as well as four major Children's specialty centers in Wilmington, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Pensacola.

The Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children, with a long-established and excellent reputation in pediatric health care, draws a broadly diverse patient population. The hospital, supported in part through an endowment from the Nemours Foundation, continues to grow both regionally and nationally and is the tertiary care center for pediatrics within the Jefferson Health System.


DESCRIPTION
Provide after hours nursing advice to patients and parent/guardians based on the approved and accepted nursing traige protocols. The nursing triage consultants assesses patient needs, formulates a plan and communicates actions to the patient's primary care physician.

1. Assesses and documents initial and ongoing telephone conversations with patients.

2. Formulates plan based on patient needs and problems and indicates plan to the patient and/or family.

3. Develops realistic and appropriate short-term goals based patient/family needs.

4. Implements patient care plan with guidance from Primary Care Physician as needed..

5. Assists patient and family in formulating a plan of care subsequent to the current telephone advice..

6. Serves as an advocate for patient and family in working with other members of the health care team if
needed..

7. Provides safe and appropriate advice through adherence to standards provided by the Medical
Director.
