Perioperative Standards Analyst

Classification: NursingDuties and Responsibilities:
The Perioperative Standards Analyst is a Registered Nurse that works to analyze clinical components of the health care system as related to internal and external standards in Perioperative Services throughout Christiana Care and supports new clinical processes and work redesign. Specific responsibilities include:Interprets and directs revision of Perioperative Services policies, and practice guidelines, to be in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and regulatory bodies.Collaborates with departments in the development and interpretation of internal and external standards related to perioperative services.Actively assists with continuous readiness for JCAHO surveys at the CCHS and departmental levels.Provides guidance and direction to perioperative nursing leadership in clinical area to support the service excellence goals of Christiana Care Health System.Supports research and integration into guidelines for the delivery of perioperative nursing care to improve clinical outcomes.Qualified applicants must have knowledge of the current perioperative nursing practice and clinical processes, have knowledge and understanding of the social, cultural, political and economic influences effecting health care programs, demonstrated experience with ASPAN, AORN, JCAHO and other standards, and the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and physicians.
