Position Summary:The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and the financial and administrative oversight of the designated program(s). The Program Manager helps design and is responsible for implementing clinical operations that deliver integrated care that is responsive to patient needs through its accessibility, cultural competence and collaborative communication. The Program Manager directly supervises nursing staff.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:'Manages the clinical, financial and administrative operations of the practice and is responsible for its day-to-day operations across all specialties. Reports to the Director of Ob/GYN Ambulatory.'Responsible for financial management of the practice including budgeting, staffing levels, purchasing, cash collection and encounter and billing processes; reviews financial and productivity reports, anticipating problems and proposing and initiating solutions; and works with the Director to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and financial results of the practice.'Manages the practice staff and supports those positions in their responsibility of hiring, developing and supervising front line staff; supports and oversees the practice staff to ensure effective registration and billing processes are in place; assesses clinical competence and promotes growth and learning of new skills; defines nursing roles and responsibilities that promote patient-centered comprehensive care'Manages the clinical staff; assesses clinical competence and promotes growth and learning of new skills; defines nursing roles and responsibilities that promote patient-centered comprehensive care'Develops high performing teams of staff and providers that will strengthen the delivery of care; works with the leadership team to design and implement a program for staff training with a focus on teamwork, patient services and process improvement'Designs and implements, quality improvement initiatives that incorporate patient staff and provider feedback'Develops and continually analyses processes that optimize patient time with providers'Develops and implements clinical practice standards that provide safe, appropriate and quality care'Works in collaboration with the Director to integrate services across specialties and to integrate the research agenda with clinical operations'Works in collaboration with the Director and the leadership team to identify and implement patient education programs to meet identified needs'Uses existing technology capabilities in clinical, administrative and fiscal operations; identifies opportunities to expand uses of technology, assists with their development, and leads their adoption across the practice'In collaboration with the Division Director develops a strategic vision for the practice; and ensures implementation as it relates to program development.'Assures practice compliance with BWH, BWPO, JCAHO, state and federal regulations'Acts as a liaison between the practice and the BWH Department of Nursing to improve nursing practice and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and MNA contract'Utilizes clinical expertise and judgment to identify patient/staff concerns and implement change
REQUIREMENTS
'Bachelor's degree required, MS preferred'Demonstrated clinical leadership experience typically acquired with 5 ' 7 years experience managing a multi-specialty practice with direct practice operations experience'Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism required dealing with patients, providers and staff.'Work requires an in-depth understanding of hospital and practice policies, procedures, and operations in order to assume a variety of administrative details. Must be resourceful in obtaining information when it is not readily available..sensitive to and supportive of patients, families, and care-providers.Must have the ability to respond quickly and purposefully to routine and unusual situations.Must have ability to recognize problems, establish priorities and initiate appropriate responses.Requires computer system/keyboard proficiency. Must be able to handle, in a professional manner, a heavy and diverse workload in an active healthcare environment.
