Under the guidance of the Director, accountable for the following; develop schedules for the unit. Update associate files, skills check lists, and competencies. Develop an ICU skills lab and related tests and documentation. Precept new staff into the unit. Manage day to day issues that may come up with the unit, working with staff, patients, and doctors. Provide direct patient care two days per week, subject to needs of the department. Take call for the unit as assigned. Participate with Director in interviews for open staff positions. Assist in preparation for JCAHO and other regulatory body surveys.
