Occupational Therapy Assist*

JOB SUMMARY: Provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) within scope of practice and in accordance with policies, protocols, guidelines and application of treatment techniques. Performs services planned and delegated by the OT; assists in preparing clinical notes and progress reports; meets qualifications, licensure/certifications and competencies as defined in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care; applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills; utilizes knowledge in the delivery of quality whole person care; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports the I CARE initiative, excellence in customer service, safe patient care and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Associates of Arts or Science Degree, Occupational Therapist Assistant required. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) registration and California license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. California driver's license required. One year of inpatient, outpatient or home health experience preferred. New graduates may be considered based on affiliation-appropriate experience. Must be able to use a computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Ability to related and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction. Automobile in good working condition with liability insurance required.
