Nursing Assistant

Hours: Per Week 24.00
Location: Immanuel Heritage Center
Shft: EveningsJob Description:Responds to patient calls, anticipates patient needs, and assures patient safety and comfort through regular rounds, environmental maintenance and other appropriate safety measures. Records vital signs and intake and output when requested into the patient record and/or computer. Reports any changes observed in the condition or behavior of patients and any unusual incidents/problems. Performs nursing procedures which do not require the skill/knowledge or judgement of a licensed professional and which may be safely delegated in accordance with nursing policies and procedures. Prepares and assists patients with meals. Feeds patients as directed. Distributes nourishments and drinking water. Assures patient privacy while providing personal and routine care. Establishes and maintains professional interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information.Education &/or Licensure
Required: Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must have successfully completed the 75-hour state approved course for Nursing Assistant.
Nurse Assistants must be on the Nurse Aide registry of the State in which they work.BLS Basic Life Support course completed within 3 months of hire.Experience Required: None. Preferred: Six months experience in an acute care hospital or skilled care facility in the acute care area.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to organize and prioritize work. Job requires individual and group interaction. Job requires continuous verbal communication skills, frequent reading skills, written communication skills, and computer skills.
