Hours: Day ShiftDescription:The Nurse Manager assumes twenty-four (24) hour responsibilites in managing the operation and function of the nursing unit/department. She/he promotes the delivery of high quality patient care based on utilization of the nursing process and nursing standards at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. Must be competent to care for, assess and treat patients according to developmental needs. Provides an environment conducive to staff growth and development. Is accountable for management of human fiscal and other resources. Focuses on the delivery of high quality patient care. Supports the values and goals of the Department of Nursing and the hospital.Qualifications: Requirements:
Current Professional Nursing Registration in New York State
BLS Required
Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competency in clinical areas
Ability to function effectively with multi-disciplinary groups.
Current CPR Certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attendance record
Basic computer knowledge
Preferred:
ACLS
BSN (Required by 2010)
Minimum 5 years L&D/Maternity Services (Progressive Management) experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
