The Research Assistant (RA) will provide direct assistance to the Principal Investigator (PI) and his Associates in the operation of a study designed to examine the timing and the effects of intraventricular hemorrhage in premature infants. The RA will be responsible for continuous bedside monitoring, collecting and organizing patient data, performing cranial ultrasounds and retrieving lab specimens at appropriate time intervals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:'Provides continuous bedside monitoring of study patient
'Monitors and sets up any needed equipment
'Performs cranial ultrasounds
'Collects needed specimen samples
'Responsible for collecting data and maintaining patient information database for study
'Maintains patients records as part of record keeping function
'Interacts with patients/subjects and parent/s with regard to study, including parent education and procedural instruction
'Performs chart reviews as necessary
'All other duties, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Degree with concentration in healthcare. Minimum of 1 year NICU clinical experience
