Advanced Practice Nurse w/Prescription (APNP) licensure req.
Physician Assistant (PA) certification required
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) performs the functions of examining, assessing, planning, and implementing the health care of assigned patients in collaboration and under the general supervision of a licensed physician. The NP/PA secures patient histories, performs physical examinations, orders laboratory tests, develops and implements treatment plans, performs diagnostic and treatment procedures, records findings, and provides patient education and counseling to enhance our effectiveness in providing primary care and preventive services in our pediatric urgent care setting.Education/Learning Experience
Required: Masters of Science in Nursing granted by an accredited college or university, and is qualified for certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber as defined in Chapter N 8.03 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code. Physician Assistants must be graduates of approved programs, be certified and/or licensed in the appropriate States and be able to prescribe according to regulations of the States.Licenses/Certifications
Required: NPs must have current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of employment, current certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (Wisconsin). PAs must have the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) certified or eligible; and licensed or eligible for licensure by the Medical Examining Board(s) of the state(s) in which the PA functions.
