Mid-Level Healthcare Analyst

The MEPRS Senior Healthcare (MEPRS) Analyst shall support AF Office of the Surgeon General. This office serves as the functional proponent for the Medical Expense Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) for the Air Force. The MEPRS Management improvement Group (MMIG) is a chartered component of the Resource Management Steering Committee that provides functional oversight for the DoD MEPRS programs. The MMIG serves as the TRICARE Management Activity's (TMA) senior staff-level body responsible for the development, implementation and management of MEPRS policies, procedures and business practices; and for integrating the collection, processing and reporting of standard workload, financial, and labor data in the Expense Assignment System (EAS) which is the Military Health System's managerial cost accounting system. This position will serve the client as the Air Force MEPRS Subject Matter Expert supporting strategic guidance, program management and oversight. This person will provide analysis, evaluation and system integration through data pulls, compilations, analyses, and documentation to ensure that all MEPRS functional activities are consistent with legislative intent, regulatory policy guidance, and Presidential and Departmental directives in a Tri-Service environment. These associates will conduct special analysis studies and provide financial evaluations of Defense healthcare Programs (DHP) and systems to include cost implication analyses of changes to the MEPRS policy, business rules, and systems. Support is provided through financial and quantitative analysis of data extracted from DHP data systems such as EAS, CHCS, and ADS and other Department of Defense DoD data systems to support update of EAS tables, and evaluation on system change requests (SCRs). This position is critical to the effective operation of the above mentioned MMIG. The Senior Healthcare Analysts shall serve as the functional proponent for the Medical Expense Performance Reporting System (MEPRS). This person will lead the applicable workgroup meetings of the MMIG, participate and brief at high-level TRICARE and DoD meetings and workgroups, ensure all pertinent meeting minutes, action items are documented. They will coordinate functional and technical issues and policy/system changes will the three Service (Army, Navy, or Air Force) MEPRS POCs and TMA applicable workgroups and agencies. These analysts will travel periodically to assist the AF MTFs in resolving processing problems and issues.Skills Required: Use of personal computer, including word processing, graphics, and spreadsheets. Use of e-mail and management of electronic and hard-copy records. Excellent written and oral communications is a must.Desired Skills: Experience in the MHS/TRICARE data collection systems or health care informatics, as well as industry managerial cost accounting systems. Proficient in problem solving techniques to include statistical, critical thinking, group management, group dynamics and organization change management. Experience with the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to review and update databases, spreadsheets, and briefing charts. In addition will use Microsoft Project Planner software and conduct data extraction, query, and analysis from MHS data marts.Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent and 6 years of related experience.
