Mental Health Worker Psych

DESCRIPTION: Per diem.Union Position.Responsible for carrying out tasks supportive and complimentary to nursing practice by providing direct patient care to child and adolescent/adult and geriatric psychiatric patients, as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse according to the philosophy, policies, procedures, and protocols of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center - Mount Sinai Campus.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the Human Services.Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. Prior experience preferred. Must complete a pre-employment drug test under state law and be included in the random drug testing pool for the Fit for Duty Substance Abuse Testing Program. CPR/BLS required.Skills: Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills, and able to prioritize tasks. Maintains confidentiality. Demonstrates good problem solving skills.Requirements: Advanced education or treatment and cure of chemically dependent patients or completion of on-the-job training educational requirements for chemically dependent patients.
