Medication Safety Specialist - Pharmacy

Classification: ProfessionalDuties and Responsibilities:
Christiana Care Health System is currently seeking a Medication Safety Specialist for our Pharmacy department to work at our Christiana Hospital location. You will be responsible for identifying and facilitating medication safety improvement projects; serve as the primary clinical pharmacy resource during the design, implementation and evaluation of adverse drug event alerts and custom rules; participate in the design and implementation of order sentences for computerized physician order entry; assists in the collection and analysis of data assessing the impact of the Cerner Millennium System on the provision of patient care and patient outcomes; supports active clinical pharmacy software within CCHS.Requirements: Bachelors in Pharmacy or Pharm D required. ASHP accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency plus at least 3 years hospital practice experience or 6 years hospital practice experience without residency training is required. Board certification as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist preferred (BCPS).Work history that includes responsibility for system level projects and/or leadership of clinical or operational decisions
Experience with Cerner Millennium Information Systems including PharmNet, Power Chart, Decision Support and ‘Smart Pump’ technology is desired.Interested applicants may contact P. Bjorklund at 302-428-5787.
