Medicare Sales and Retention Representative I
Summary/Position Objectives:
This position reports to the plan Manager, Compliance and Medicare Operations and coordinates with the Medicare Sales and Retention Representative to provide support to the Medicare program.
By using marketing and sales expertise, the Medicare Sales and Retention Representative I will drive membership growth and retention, and other sustainable objectives. This position must have Medicare sales and industry experience and knowledge and a proven record of success in new sales and retention with the ability to use innovative, creative and strategic solutions to align plan and SAI resources with client needs.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Works closely with the Medicare Sales and Retention Specialist to provide sales service and support to the Medicare line of business.
Actively support the department in sales retention and marketing strategy sales.
Utilizes a strong sales background to increase the enrollment base of the plan and achieve the enrollment projections.
Provides expertise in statistical data, generating reports and other administrative support as necessary
Develops and maintain trusted relationships with members and key market influencers (e.g. consultants, regulators, clients) to support the line of business.
Develops sales, retention and marketing strategies that will result in profitable growth.
Must rapidly become an expert on CMS rules and regulations and stay breast of changes.
Secondary Functions:
Maintains effective working contacts with corporate Marketing, and public managed health care staff on a local level.
Continues education regarding changes and trends in health care management, business operations, and federal/state health care regulations.
Must have the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
Works in a manner that is not disruptive to peers, supervisors and/or subordinates.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
Must be available and willing to work such days and hours as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Knowledge and Skills:
The position needs to possess the ability to perform detailed and disciplined work using standard methodologies in the analysis, design, development, evaluation, testing, documentation, implementation, and support of corporate health care goals.
The position must be able to successfully utilize Microsoft Office Suite and common computer and office hardware and software functions. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks is necessary.
The position must have a strong marketing and sales background with demonstrated success in enrollee acquisition and retention
Continuous commitment to building content knowledge in Medicare and Medicaid lines of business.

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor degree in health care or closely related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of formal education and experience may substitute for a degree. Incumbent must have a minimum of 3 years experience in managed health care administration, with a minimum of 2 years Medicare/Medicaid experience. Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment are required. This position requires work experience in a complex, competitive environment with diverse racial, ethnic and socio-economic factors. State of Delaware Producer’s license required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Work Environment Qualifications:
Position is an office environment. Incumbent may be required to sit for extended periods, entering and manipulating data on a workstation computer and participating in team/executive meetings. Approximately 75% of daily responsibilities will be working both one-on-one and in teams with other personnel and extended one-on-one contact in a quiet environment where hearing and listening is paramount. Occasional requirements are to: stand, walk, use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Incumbent may be scheduled to work an alternate schedule to accommodate essential business needs.
