Medical Equipment Technician (Driver) with CDL

The Medical Equipment Technician is responsible for the delivery, setup, and instruction of home medical and respiratory equipment to patients and/or caregivers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Selects appropriate equipment, delivers to patient’s home, sets-up and provides instructions for oxygen, durable medical equipment, and supplies. Ensures that equipment delivered has been serviced, cleaned, and is ready for patient use. Makes deliveries by adhering strictly to the traffic laws and regulations as established by the State and/or DOT.
•Completes, organizes, ensures accuracy of, and submits all paperwork related to deliveries and maintenance to the supervisor at the end of the each day. Obtains patient signatures for billing purposes and regulatory requirements. Completes Manifest/Shipping papers for hazardous materials and legal documentation requirements as needed for DOT. Maintains Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and other regulatory agency standards in accordance with company policy as communicated by management.
•Communicates in writing and/or verbally any adverse conditions in the patient environment to the Clinical Staff, Customer Service Staff, and/or Supervisor.
•Picks up, returns, and processes equipment as per policy to the branch.
•Maintains equipment and supply inventory for assigned vehicle. Assures daily vehicle inspection and maintenance.
•Performs warehouse responsibilities in accordance with established polices and procedures. Keeps informed of and complies with JCAHO, FDA, OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local requirements as they apply to warehouse functions
•Performs during scheduled hours and/or on-call duty. May perform all duties described above in other company locations when required.
•Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
•Previous HM liquid experience (1-3 years)
• Heavy lifting
•Must have a valid Commercial Drivers License
•Clear driving record
•Good communication skills
•Basic math skills
•Map reading skills
