Medical Assistant-FP

Sutter Regional Medical Foundation is the Greater Solano County's largest multi-specialty physician organization. Serving the community for over 50 years, its doctors and other health professionals pride themselves on offering high-quality, compassionate care out of four care centers in Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo and Rio Vista, California.

The incumbent for this position will work with the physician in providing medical care to patients, of various ages, according to the policy of the individual practice and in accordance with nursing professional standards and medical foundation policies and procedures. Clinical duties may include: taking medical histories, recording vital signs and current medications, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination. Provide patients with information regarding medication use and special diets; communicate and document prescription refills as directed to the appropriate pharmacy.Medical,Dental,Vision,401k,etc.
REQUIREMENTS


Knowledge of: Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of what constitutes a medical emergency requiring a physician or licensed nurse's attention. Knowledge of scope of practice of a Medical Assistant. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of computers and their applications.





 





Ability to:  The qualified candidate must also poses's basic data entry/computer skills and the ability to operate other office equipment as required (ie. fax, copier, telephone, etc.). The qualified candidate must also demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with patients, professional staff, and others using positive communication strategies and guest relation skills; possess ability to accept work direction form multiple sources, prioritize tasks, and remain adaptable to changes in work environment; have demonstrated ability to accurately receive and relay information over the telephone and in person; has experience handling various confidential documents and reports.



 



Experience and Education: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience - Previous experience as a medical assistant in a physician office, hospital or similar experience preferred.  Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant certification is required. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
