Master Youth Worker

Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) is the largest locally based, independent youth services agency in Chicago, annually serving nearly 8,000 young people ages 3 to 19, more than half of whom live below the poverty level.CYC was founded to serve in Chicago neighborhoods where kids need us most, a mission that continues today at CYC neighborhood centers and Head Start sites throughout the Chicago area, and CYC-Camp Rosenthal, an overnight summer camp in Dowagiac, Michigan.


We are currently seeking a Master Youth Worker for our ABC and Centro Nuestro locations.


Job Purpose:
Provide effective direct services to children and youth population and model best practices to program staff and volunteers in accordance with the center’s planned objectives.Responsibilities for the Master Youth Worker include:Prepare administrative & program statistical reports as assigned
Serve as staff liaison to local center’s Teen Senate to ensure that planned objectives are met and outcomes are achieved
Participate in budgetary planning process as assigned by Center Director
Mentor new program staff and volunteers to facilitate effective orientation Coordinate program documentation activities including the preparation of activity plans, reports and program evaluation.Ensure that the assigned program facility space and resources are maintained in an effective manner including the ongoing inventory of all program supplies and equipment
Facilitate monthly parent meeting, and family night activities
Assist the Center Director with the planning and development of program related fundraising activities
Serve on assigned agency-wide ad hoc work teams
Serve as direct service substitute for effective program delivery as necessary
Attend assigned community group meetings to promote center exposure and facilitate collaboration,
Other duties as assigned to fulfill the mission of the center and agency needs
REQUIREMENTS
Specifications for the Master Youth Worker:Bachelors’ degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Education, Social Services Administration or Recreation
3-4 years related program experience (combination of 18 hours of School Age coursework/ Child Development, or related field
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)Computer expertise ( MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Must obtain Food Sanitation Certificate
Bilingual is a plus
